psst...want to know a secret?? NO.

There is a Self-Help book called The Secret.  My mom loves it and the whole world apparently fell in love with it.  I have never read it but I was with a friend at drinks last night and somehow the book came up.  My friend told me she HATES it and that her mom is in love with it as well and really believes in it's philosophy. Basically, the philosophy being that if you really wish for something, it will come to fruition.  She mentioned this one example they give in the book that if you envision a parking spot to be available for you when you are trying to park your car then a space will appear.  It was hilarious that she used this specific example because this is the one scenario my mother always uses when talking about this absurd book.  She then told me she was once with her mom and uncle looking for a parking spot and they truly started envisioning an open space thinking this hocus-pocus actually works.  I find it so funny that probably at the same time my mom in New jersey is at Target praying and meditating in her car for a parking spot, that some random Croatian women in a parking lot half way around the world is doing the same.  Based on the worldwide popularity of this book, it's pretty much a guarantee that at any moment of any day in the world, in a thousand languages, someone is sitting in a car in a crowded parking lot using  The Secret to will themselves a space.   And what if there's only one space available and all four cars looking know The Secret?  What then?  This book is dumb from what i gather. You want to know the secret to finding a parking spot... drive around until you find a spot without a car in it. There's the secret.

And now a picture of the beautiful Plitvice National Park, in Croatia that I visited.  Also known as the Land of the Falling Lakes.  I wish I could take credit for this photo, but i cant.  This was the day right after my injury and my photos didnt do the place justice...I was too preoccupied to worry about shutter speed and lighting...seriously though, look at this place.  It's amazing it's on this planet.
